Rob Mount Electrical

"I recently hired Rob Mount for a small electrical job. He completed the work in around 2 hours, and at the time both sides seemed satisfied. However, the issue came afterward when I received an invoice for £ 275 £275. I did not immediately dispute the amount, as I understand professional tradespeople charge for more than just time on site. My concern was that the invoice gave no proper cost breakdown, so I politely asked for one. Instead of providing a clear explanation, I was told that the invoice itself was the breakdown and that all customers are invoiced that way. When I asked again, I felt the response was dismissive and unnecessarily patronising, including comments suggesting that if I wanted cheaper work I should hire a “2nd rate engineer.” That was unprofessional and not how a customer should be spoken to for simply asking how a charge was calculated. Only after repeated requests was I eventually sent a breakdown, which included £ 223 £223 for “Labour/experience/knowledge of the job,” alongside small charges for parts, travel, and membership costs. I accept that hiring accredited professionals costs more, and I will pay the invoice, but I found the lack of transparency and the attitude toward a reasonable customer query disappointing. The electrical work itself was completed quickly, but based on the communication and refusal to provide a straightforward explanation when asked, I would not use this service again."

"I contacted Rob a few weeks ago as we had accumulated a number of different electrical repairs around our property. Rob visited quickly, assessed all of the work and made a list of required parts (some of which he had to organise as special orders). Rob kept us fully informed of the timing for all of the parts to be available and then came first thing on the agreed date to fix everything that was fixable at that point. He worked through the list quickly and very neatly effecting full repairs. We have two jobs outstanding where we needed to source parts and as soon as we have them we will be asking Rob to do the work. Couldn’t recommend Rob highly enough … both his work and his communications are truly excellent."
